We specialize in the sale of gaited trail and field trial horses. While we understand that sometimes the travel distance prohibits in person visits, but we believe wholeheartedly that chemistry is a BIG part of the horse/rider team relationship. We strongly feel that the best way to demonstrate the suitability of each horse and rider team is in person and on the trail. We encourage potential buyers to come see us and spend some time handling and riding the horses that we have to offer. We do our best to make you feel welcome and at home. Please bring the saddle you are comfortable in so that you feel more at home and we can evaluate any potential saddle fit problems. We welcome you to visit as many times as you need. Jarred offers lessons to help potential buyers feel safe and secure with their new partner. The horses listed below are owned by Westwood Farms or consigned to us by private breeders, so they are not all located in Virginia.

If we do not have the right horse for you, we may be able to find it through our contacts! Feel free to e-mail us with a description of your "perfect horse" and we will do our best to help you find what you are looking for. You can also ad FREE listings to our horses wanted section.

Due to popular demand, we are now offering consignment sales for our clients. Selling a horse can be a dreaded experience for some riders who don’t have the time or required resources to get the job done on their own. Work schedules, lack of safe riding facilities and even privacy concerns are some of the many reasons our clients choose to consign horses. Consigning allows our clients freedom from worries like no-show potential Buyers, missed work, and rider liability. Jarred Langston is a talented rider and trainer who prides himself on his ability to match suitable horses and riders. We take our time with each prospective buyer to ensure that matches are well made. If you would like to consign your horse with us, contact stephanie@westwoodfarms.net

We may accept payment plans (boarding fees required) and we can accept payments through Zelle. We are also willing to barter (only on our stock and services, not available with consignment sales). Check out our payment options and terms of sale. Be sure to check out our references!

Check out our lovely mini and toy Australian shephards. Our sweet girls generally go everywhere that we do: horseback rides, kayaking, road trips...you name it! Their small size makes them the perfect companions. They make excellent working farm dogs, emotional support animals and pets.

UCCINTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please note that we are more than happy to accommodate international buyers,  but due the increasing incidences of internet fraud, horses must be paid in full (i.e. funds received and held for two weeks) before any arrangements for shipping are made. We also prefer that payments be made via Western Union Money Order or PayPal rather than wire transfer. You can find the current exchange rate by clicking on the spinning icon to the left.

Lined's High Hope Lined's High Hope
TWHBEA #21001812
Lined with Cash x Sweepstake's High Hope
2010 - 15h - Black
Genotype:
[Ee aa]
FOR SALE: $4500

We can include rebreeding to any of our stallions.

Hope has a phenominal way of going. When we first met Hope, she had only been ridden a handful of times. When Jarred climbed on her back bareback with a halter, she stepped right off at a running walk. Hope naturally drops her backend and strides deep underneath herself. She plants her feet rather than "skates", giving a truer walk than is commonly seen. She has a kind, sweet disposition and loves attention. "Hope" is a direct daughter of Lined with Cash, who was out of the great mare, Gen's Silver Lining (Pride's Generator x Sun's Eldorado daughter.) Lined with Cash was directly by Pride's Gold Coin and out of the top producing mare Delight's Joanna (by Sun's Delight D.) Pride's Gold Coin was by Pride of Midnight H.F., a direct son of Midnight Sun out of the stylish and talented Pride of Stanley. Hope's dam, Sweepstake's High Hopes was directly by Sweepstakes. She has produced absolutely wonderful foals for us. Her first two colts (both buckskins by Gambler's Midas Touch WF) were dark gold, brilliant, and 100% naturally gaited. Her third foal, Snip's High Hope WF, (a homozygous black filly by Remembrance's Merry Snip) is equally brilliant and naturally gaited with a bold, fearless disposition. We have retained her for our breeding program. Hope was bred back to Remembrance's Merry Snip and foaled a stunning black colt, Snip's Midnight Legacy WF, on 5-26-2020. She then produced four fantastic buckskin colts by Darrah's Handsome Traveler.

Snip's Pushy Lady WF
TWHBEA #21902457
Remembrance's Merry Snip x Fame's Pushy Lady
2019 - Black

Genotype: [EE aa]
FOR SALE: $4800

When we bred Fame’s Pushy Lady (BJ) to Remembrance's Merry Snip, we were praying for a black filly to keep in BJ's place. Her dam, Fame’s Pushy Lady is affectionately known as “BJ” around the farm. We first met BJ in 1999 while visiting another horse in training at Joe London Training Stables.  She was a supremely talented mare whose short but brilliant show career was cut short due to a leg injury involving a fence that left her with a severed tendon. The injury forced her show career to a halt and left her unable to be ridden. Even with her injury, when Joe allowed me to ride BJ for a few passes around the riding ring she absolutely blew me away. She is one of the best natural walking horses I’ve ever ridden, injury and all. I can only imagine what she might’ve done in the show ring if the injury hadn’t sidelined her. When BJ moves, you feel like you are walking with purpose. Her powerful natural rhythm echoes through your body, but in a good way. It’s like feeling the rhythm of music. Joe chose BJ as a youngster. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he felt she was destined for greatness. She came out of the womb walking and shaking on a level that usually takes years to reach. Everyone who knew BJ will tell you that she is one of the most natural, talented horses out there. When she was first put under saddle, she just went right into walking and shaking. Everything with BJ was just…easy! She was easy to work with and just so naturally talented. She loved trail riding and showing and walked a show level gait no matter if it was a dirt road or a mountain path. Although she is a high caliber show mare we expect her foals to do well in any venue --- just like BJ! Naomi's sire, Remembrance's Merry Snip, was one of the last closest living links to both Midnight Sun and Merry Boy, with other great horses (Wilson's Allen, Roan Allen, the great mare Merry Legs, Go Boy's Nite Storm, Ebony Masterpiece, Society Man and an incridibly strong dam line through the Ray Corum breeding program, including Midnight Peggie P, Stormy's Ebony Doll and Ebony' Co-Ed.)

She was started under saddle as a three year old, but has not had much riding time.

Delight Me With Jazz x The Tennessee Stud WF
4/11/2025 - Bay Sabino
- Colt
$4800
This bay sabino colt has it all-- flash, height, substance, smooth gaits, brains, and the SWEETEST personality! He is bold, brave, extroverted and wants to be part of everything. He should mature to over 16hh and have enough bone to hold most any rider. He would make a flashy, eager to please field trial or trail horse with enough talent to show. This colt has a huge backend with a lofty front end to match. He's going to have a completely natural smooth 4-beat gait that won't quit, along with a drop dead gorgeous canter. He's been loping since the day he came out of his mother's womb. He plays like a little quarter horse - sliding to stop and turning on a dime like a little reining horse. He will be incredibly athletic. His dam is Delight Me With Jazz. She has a big, bold, loose way of moving. She has the perfect range of gaits - she can do the whole spectrum, but easily holds in ghte middle for that beautiful four-beat, silky smooth gait. She has a wonderful disposition. She is friendly, but not overly pushy. She has plenty of common sense and curiosity. She is easy to work with and has plenty of handling since birth. She stands 16.2 hands, but seems even taller with her commanding presence, BIG bone and broad chest. READ MORE

Her Favorite Line x The Tennessee Stud WF
6/20/2024 - Chestnut
- Colt
$2800

This handsome colt can flat out MOVE. He would be an excellent flatshod show prospect, a tremendous trail horse or a flashy field trial mount! He's got a stellar disposition and a head full of sense. He is a full brother to Tennessee Georgia Line WF. The colt's dam, Her Favorite Line, is a 16h direct daughter of Lined with Cash, who was out of the great mare, Gen's Silver Lining (Pride's Generator x Sun's Eldorado daughter.) Her Favorite Line is a dead ringer for her talented grandmother in looks and movement! Gen's Silver Lining was a 10-time World Champion and World Grand Champion. In her prime she was considered one of the best mares to ever grace the show ring. She sat down on her back end, waved those front legs and shook that head every step of the way. Her Favorite Line moves the same way and has passed it to every one of her foals. Her sire, Lined with Cash was directly by Pride's Gold Coin who was out of the top producing mare Delight's Joanna (by Sun's Delight D.) Pride's Gold Coin was by Pride of Midnight H.F., a direct son of Midnight Sun out of the stylish and talented Pride of Stanley. Her Favorite Line's dam is a Pride's Favorite daughter. READ MORE
